DPMS g2

Yep i got the Aguila at reliable, I wanted to get more since im never that comfortable being under 2000 rounds of ammo for a semi, but since its my first xperience with that ammo I stuck with 500 only and got a couple of boxes of steel match instead. Blonde guy at the counter, I always forget his name, says Aguila is good ammo, but then which retailer would say anything bad about what they carry on stock.

Ill try to pick up some of that federal gold and that lapua, 175 smk might be a tad too heavy in weight and my scope sight in would be constantly messed up between plinking and accuracy shooting.

I've only shot the 22LR and 9mm Aguila and it was decent. Not match grade ammo but pretty good.

The 175 smk shouldn't be too heavy. It's only a 16" barrel but it is a 1:10 twist. I actually suspect the 167 Lapua will be the real winner here. I've had some pretty amazing luck with it and my DPMS LR308.

there she is all ready

8.5lbs with optic isn't bad at all. A bone stock C7 with Elcan weighs about 1lb more than that.

You could save even more weight by having the barrel turned down to something more akin to government profile.

How do you like the TA33? I've heard nothing but great things and the lightweight and generous eye relief has me thinking it would be my ideal combat optic. I've thought about throwing my factory FDE TA01ECOS up on the EE on more than one occasion so I could afford to buy one.

I'd say the G2 is the most exciting thing to happen to .308 ARs but now the NEA 102 has been approved. Even then the only reason it would edge out the G2 is because it's non-restricted.

Ok the TA33
Pros: Fantastic glass, great eye relief, BAC, and very light even lighter if you swap the trijicon mount for a midwest industries
Cons: Field of view 7 meters at 100 meters, price

if you always use both eyes open, which you really should with an acof, then the field of biew matters not, remains only the price.
I own 3 of them, one on my iur, one on the g2 and one on my mk12, they are great for rifles that are already heavy.

as for the nea102 since itll be inthe same price range as the g2 ill do a comparison thread when i get mine.

Yes, I've heard about the FOV but like you mentioned if you keep both eyes open (I do) then it's not really an issue. Price is a factor, the only reason I don't have one yet.
