^^ I remember seeing that too when going to the link. The card in the box says otherwise though (well, in my case). The 2014 official rebate form that was with all the paperwork in the box says this.

All offers valid on purchases made 8/1/2014 through 12/31/14. all requests must be postmarked by 1/24/2015. If you're on the edge over $50, maybe give them a call to confirm what I've said.
