Dpms oracle ar

I got one just before I started hearing about them all over CGN. Mine doesn't have a flash hider but it shoots really nice. Yeah, the stock kinda sucked but I put a fixed on it anyways so the buffer tube didn't mean anything to me. I think the Oracle is a great choice for a first AR. I'll put some pics of mine up soon.

I could pass up the price either.... Wolverine sent me this.

Added a Samson Quad rail, front grip, Magpul sights, Aimpoint PRO and have a GG&G Bipod for it too....

What do you think?

Now I just need time to shoot the damn thing!!

AS PROMISED - The Range Report

Took the Oracle out to the indoor range today (Phoenix) and gave her a test drive.

Average group size with Burris T-Dot sight was .75 inch (attributable to the 1X optic) with some verticle stringing shown towards the end of the groups. Firing cycle was 2 5rd groups followed by a short (2 min) cool off period.

Round Count
100 - 75ge HPBP over 24gr CFE223 OAL 2.250"
50 - 62gr Speer FMT over 25gr CFE223 OAL 2.25"
25 - ZMAX @ MAX LOAD

Zero Failures to fire, eject or function in any way. So far 100% reliable. Cases were thrown neatly to the right and slightly forward with no damage.

As for the railed gas block... On most of the industry ARs the railed gas block is the same height as the receiver... This is the only one I'm familiar with that uses a lowered rail. Not a big deal, since we're planning on removing it (2 set screws on the bottom) and replacing it with a Troy low-profile and a Alpha rail.

Not true. Most railed gas blocks are lower than receiver height. Not all maybe, but most. This is the reason most manufacturers offer two different heights of front folding sights. The taller version being marked as the version for mounting on "railed gas blocks".

What he said. I picked up a DPMS Oracle back in December. The gas block mount is lower than the receiver height. You'll need a front site that usually is described as 'gas block mount'.
I picked mine up at Wolverine : http://www.wolverinesupplies.com/de...-Front-Sight-Gas-Block-Mount-Model-Black.aspx

If you're going to keep the M-16 style handguard you might want to pick up the GG&G rail that mounts to the handguard for a picatinny mount bi-pod. I got it from Wolverine but I don't see it on their web site now.

I can't give a full range report but 60-70 rounds of Norinco .223 using LAR mags worked without any problems.

Well finally got out to shoot the DPMS, my first AR. All I can say is wow, that thing ran like a top with the WPA Bulk I have, hand loads, and whitebox 223.

Very impressed with the function of this AR. Groups at 25 sighting in were down to about .75", at 100 yards maybe 4-6" with the red dot and no magnification.

This thing is sick. I'm hooked on AR's now for sure.

One left.

I am just sad that someone scammed all the P-mags and replaced them with shyt D&H mags @ EPPS.

Hearing some of the stories out of that place..... someone just pocketed themselves 10 pmags swapping out their D&H mags they most likely got from Sask.Gun Works.

Time to call the owner.

Or gravle ran out of P mags and only had D&H mags, as the dpms guns are not shipped to canada with a mag in the box...
