Can I ask what made you decide on the S&W instead of the oracle?

I'm an AR newbie so my decision was more or less based on the general consensus I found online while searching for the best starter. And the price was right. Came out to ~$722 after all was said and done. Most other retailers I've seen have it listed around $800 before shipping and taxes.

It's a nice rifle for the price. I have a Sport 2 with the front post. Wish I had an OR instead, but I like it. After reading a bit on the DPMS I believe the S&W is a better buy for the price.

The front post was a turn off for me, so I was actually leaning towards the Oracle. Then I came across this thread, which made me check out the website and led to me coming across the last handful of optic ready M&P15s at a price too good to pass up on.

I've actually been having a really good day today and this is just the cherry on top. Seriously so damn stoked to get my first AR. Thanks SFRC!

Does anyone know if MagPul MOE Handguard AR-15, Mid-Length, Gray will fit the Oracle, I read somewhere it had a low profile gas block, but wanted to order my handguard the same time. Or if not, any others that might fit? Thanks,

It won't. You need a carbine length handguard, and that's shorter than a mid-length. I didn't see anything that would fit at SFRC when I checked. For reference, what you need is a carbine-length handguard that fits on delta-ring and retaining cap. The magpul would fit if it was carbine length.

I have a fab defense quad rail on my Oracle. It went on no problem.
