I am planning on buying a drag bag for my new 12FV 22-250, both for carry and for a shooting mat while out popping gophers and yotes. I am just wondering do you guys have a bag for each gun or just a couple bags and you load whatever gun is the choice of the day and head out? I currently use 4 cheap hard cases from CT and just put whatever guns I am taking in a case and go and it seems a reasonable thing to do with the bag as well. Yes or no?

Thanks,
Mark

The problem with a drag bag shooting mat combo is that when you fold up the shooting mat you get dust, dirt, grass, and whatever else in with the gun.
Best to buy just the regular drag bag and a seperate shooting pad. the blue ensolite foam works good and doesn't absorb moisture.

I have a voodoo darg bag and a voodoo matt.
Resonable priced.
Supply Sargent in West Edmonton Mall sells voodoo, as well as One Shoot Tacttical
Zippers and material are not as good as higher priced,(tac- force) but they do the job.
I shot with a guy who had the matt - drag bag combo. We were shooting in the rain and at the end on the day he had his rifle folded into a wet bag.

Thanks for the replies. I have already picked out the bag, I was only wondering about using one bag with multiple guns (not at the same time, though).

Dogzilla makes a very good point I hadn't considered before. I am not crazy about mixing assorted junk in with my rifle for the trip home. I will take a look at a foam pad to shoot from. The foam you are talking about is just the typical blue foam camping pads that I see at CT all the time, right?

Princess Auto in Calgary had foam pad for around $7 a couple of weeks ago.
Size looked to be 3' x 5', green roll in surplus section.

I've had one of the princess auto surplus roles for a while. I added some brass gromets (also princess auto) so I could attach strings to tie it up and stake down the corners if it was too windy. Works for me, total cost including the gromet kit was under $20.
