Anyone have a favourite in the Dragunov Family? model? year? optics?

If you're not 12-5 you could always try getting an SVT-40 sniper with a PU scope. I got one of these and they work fine, same ammo semi auto, PU scope isn't as advanced as the SVD scope though

That's awesome, amazing work. I don't really want to mod my SVT-40 though I've got origional ww2 scope and mount, (not matching though). I'm thinking of trying a CZ-858 conversion I've seen some nice ones on here

Is the CZ858 more accurate than the SVT40 in general? A gunsmith told me that female snipers in Stalingrad preferred SVT's over the 91/30's for some reason.

the SVT-40 scope mount is easier to set up and if you need to unload close up it's semi. Also it can still use stripper clips.

Somewhat part of the Dragunov family, and I've had one of each of them...NDM, M76, SVD, Romak, etc...

The Valmet M78/83S; my favourite...and I can fire it as it's non-restricted. 7.62NATO and accurate as anyone could ask from a 25yr old rifle!
