Dragunov or variants?

You've been "watching CGN for years," come from Quebec, ask about ATT/SAP like you've never heard of them, want to know about Drags, Tavors, M14s, etc. :D

In any case, welcome! H:S:

"...a BC thing or a Canada thing??..." No such thing as a 'BC thing'. The firearm laws are Federal only.
"...the CFC doesn't issue ATTs..." CPFO thing. Not that it matters, you still can't get one.

Have fun with "not giving up..."

Unless you manage to ###-marry a guy who owns a Dragunov and then he meets an early demise, you're not goig to get 12(X) status (and maybe not even then).

Which means "NO Dragunov for you!!!".

Age discrimination? Yes.
Liberal Policy? Yes.
Make any sense? Nope - but then few firearms laws do.

vezier sports or similar name from Quebec advertizes it for sale. The other factory in Tula, "the institute" I forgot the name has it in its web site as still being made, saw it yesterday. TOZ factory does not make it for sure now

TsKIB KBP Subsidiary production. They not making Berkut's anymore either.

Ask them for the year of production.

I have new M44 made in 1953 in Poland. I bought it at Milarm store in Edmonton last year. Doesn't mean they are still in production...

TEAPOT why do the still advertise it as being made, are they waiting for someone to order more from them

PS. I also have brand new never fired M44 Radom made, Present from my Grand Father, never returned his Milicya issued rifle. I was able to leagaly bring it over in late 80s

Teapot have you ever used BERKUT? Is it SVD related, what type of mag does it take? I only shot Tigr before it is strightout SVD and Medved but this is tipical hunting semi-auto plus it was expensive, Berkut never even seen one in real life

No, I haven't shoot Berkut. It has two parts receiver... kind off upper and lower...No, it's not related but it accepts SVD mags.

1RONM@N;
Have an orignal Soviet SVD for sale if interested, all accessories, all original.... Never used....
John

So, now all he need is a time machine to travel back and get his 12(5) prohibited licence.... or lobby government to reverse 12(5) guns back to restricted or non-restricted....

Canadians are so entrenched in emotion that you're better off (higher chance) trying to win the jack pot lotto max aka 1 in 29 million chance for this weeks 50mil, atleast youll be happy with the money to buy almost all the guns you want...provided theyre either deact or not ak.

I have one,

and I get to shoot mine too!

Well, it's my one of a kind heavily modified SVT-40
but it's as close as you can get to a non-restricted dragunov in Canada!
Seriously...
You should look into making these into kit's because every time I look at this pic of it. I start feeling like buying an SVT and modding it to look like this.

Cool,

Thanks for the tip. And to get a Dragunov or any of the variant. I need a 12.5?
Does sharpie make a good enough tip to put 12.5 on my PAL?
lol

But I also like what (forget his name) did to that SVT ...very nice.

I think my wife is starting to worry. I have more pictures of you with you Modded SVT that pictures of my family on my computer lol...just kidding NOT!

I really like what you did to your svt .

Was it expensive?
Did you do it yourself or did you get someone to do it for you and if so can you give me his number? I seem to remember a post that mentioned you having it build but I might of been dreaming.
Have you every shot a Dragunov and or variants and how did the compare?
I'm a big 7.62x54r fan and I'd love to get my hands on one. Shot a Chinese version . I think it was from Century Arms when they had a Warehouse in Laval,QC
I miss the fact that you can't just show up to places like that and just jump into the piles of guns (they often bought rifles and whatnot by the pound or ton). That's how I got my Indian Fal for 125$ those were the days

Anyway , any info you can give me would be very appreciated .

thanks for the mention,

Gun brokers , that's a Canadian site or American?
I've never ordered a rifle from the states. Has anyone here ever done that and how much duty (in all it's meaning) did you have to go through??

I ordered recently a Marathon Msar for California (getting it tomorrow from PC) and I got a great deal but for a 650$+170 Maple leaf bracelet . it ended being 800+75 cnd+tomorrow 199.04 duty so 1949.04 Canadian (oh did I mention that I bought 2)
But if you go to Universal Currency Converter they tell you it's (this was like 3 weeks ago) 800 usd is 845CND so I was woohoo let's do it go to the bank. I have 845 cnd and 800 usd from my buddy . So I decided to pay the dude I bought them from with a PC money order. They first wanted to take my friends 800 usd at pare ???? and then charge me an extra 100 to convert and 5.50$ for the money order ??? so I go to my bank and have them do a wire transfer which cost me 30$ smackers and then they had to convert back my friends 800usd to cnd which gave him 808cnd and the changes me an extra 149$ (! know ....WHAT THE FN?!?!?!?!?) this had been a long day and I was trying to honor the agreement that I had with the seller. So I did it. and when I got home tonight I got a nice little door hanger from PC that tells me to pick up tomorrow and not tonight (bummer) and Oh btw it's gonna cost you another 199.04 to get GRRRRR

Anyways , I can just imagine a Rifle purchased from the other side of the wo.. I mean border.

So please feel free to enlighten me with the knowledge of a easy border crossing ..oh I mean an good gun shop the imports with minimal stress to the buyer. Thank you kindly :)
