Well,
I drank a pitcher of Kool Aid I guess. I ordered a shorty from Frontier two months ago and was quite happy with the rifle. From my limited range time I would have to say it is a 1.5" gun at the moment with Federal Blue Box 150gr. Of course the front sight was canted to the side slightly, but the initial rounds were on target and windage was good. Took it for a few hikes in pursuit of game, but was not skillful enough with my hunting technique(consider myself an armed hiker). The rifle was fine to carry all day. I am a back pack hunter and generally put on a lot of km in a day. The one thing I noticed is that the opening in the stock around where the mag goes is had very sharp edges and made carrying a little uncomfortable. That was easily remedied with some steel wool. Oh and the noisy sling, a hair elastic(don't tell the wife) and duct tape fixed that.
Today its big brother arrived from Marstar. The sight is canted on this one too, but the other way. Some parts seem more refined while others are less. Look forward to taking this one to the range and seeing how it performs.
I intend to work up some loads with some 165gr projectiles over IMR 3031 for both in the near future.
If I get my act together and bag some game you'll see some pics in the hunting thread.
Cheers,
Chris
