Did a search didn't find any threads so I hope Iam safe in posting this :D

What is your dream hunt? Figure we could do two catagories. A dream hunt that may come true one day and a dream hunt that unless all the stars aline is likely always going to be a dream.

My dream hunt I hope to actually achieve one day is caribou in the NWT. I have no real reason why but it's one of my favorite animals and I have always dreamed of one day getting to hunt them.

My dream hunt that will likely always be a dream is the red stag in New Zealand. For some reason I find them very majestic and I would love to one day be able to go but pricing is a bit out of my league.

For some reason I have never been interested in Africa I will admit there plains game is some of the most beautiful animals on earth I just have never had the desire to go. I also don't see myself ever sheep hunting for any of the many types but I can see the challange involved and why people would be attracted.

So what are your dream hunts?

Antelope in Montana - which I'm hopefully going to do this year.

Dream Hunt - Some kind of sheep hunt - Argali sheep in Mongolia has always intrigued me - or a hunt in Russia. (need to win a lottery)

Their both doable, but I have always wanted to hunt plains critters in Africa. But at the same time caribou up in Northern Quebec has been calling to me as of late. A caribou hunting/fishing trip is more realistic I think. My friend is moving back to Montreal next year, so I could drive out there and we could drive North together. I don't like to fly.

Caribou hunt sounds pretty cool.
Being a flatlander thats never seen the mountains , I'd like to hunt the foothills in Alberta for elk...on horseback.
...maybe even spend a day or two looking for Bigfoot...:D

definatly a dall sheep hunt in the mackenzie mountains, been there once on a mixed bag hunt, but i'm heading back summer 2010 specifically for sheep.

Reg Stag in New Zealand would be the first before Africa if i ever win the lottery

Moose and Bear in Alaska

Better to be judged by twelve than carried by 6

That would be X2, Always facinated with the big moose, and brown bear up there.

My dream was to hunt big bears and to hunt Africa. I managed to get to Africa three years ago, and I chose to live where I have the opportunity for frequent interaction with big bears, so I guess that's covered. Africa is a spoiler though, as it is difficult to find anything else that measures up. The pull to return is strong, particularly I think because I am passionate about dangerous game, but the plains game hunter who ventures there will enter a land beyond his wildest dreams.

If you want excitement and are fortunate enough to hunt in "wild" Africa, even on a day that you are hunting guinea fowl with a 20 gauge there is the chance of getting into a situation with lions, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and crocodiles. These animals are always present, and sometimes it's more exciting when you don't see them. The variety and abundance of game is beyond belief. To paraphrase Theodore Roosevelt, "We did not shoot a tenth or even a hundredth of what we might have!" And so it was with us. The cost to hunt "The Big 5" on a single safari is beyond the means of all but the wealthy, but a 10 day plains game or buffalo hunt is almost affordable and most rewarding. Game comes in an unbelievable range from the miniature antelope like the dik-dik which is about the size of a jack rabbit then increases in 50 pound increments to the eland which weighs close to a ton.

The key is to live your dreams, whatever they might be, and if an opportunity presents itself, take advantage of it. Yes, family responsibilities come first, but if the kids are grown and the mortgage paid, now is the time to make it happen.

My dream hunt that may come true is a caribou hunt in Northern Quebec.
My dream hunt that will just be a dream is to hunt 1 big game animal from each continent

The tundra and sub-arctic is just awesome country, everyone should do a hunt there at least once in their lifetime. A North American guided caribou hunt is probably still the best hunting bargain out there.

Dream hunt: I just booked myself a caribou hunt for November in northern Labrador/quebec.

Dream hunt that will never come true: Africa...even plains game is outa my price range.

Been on one, a plains game hunt in Africa. Would like to go back for a Buffalo and some of the plains game I didn't get the last time, eland( I promise not to mention this animal again) and waterbuck. The elephant thing doens't do much for me, or lion. The dream dream hunt would be for ARgali sheep, it's partly a dream because of the money but more of a dream because of my knees and middle aged fat guy physique.

Well, it appears that I'm a "dream maker" for those wanting to hunt caribou, and after 30 years of it I still get excited, but my personal dream would be MarcoPolo sheep in Mongolia, .......see the great wall of China, stay in a yurt, hunt the high desert, and drink fermented yaks milk!!
