dressing up a GSG 1911

Hey guys I just ordered my first 1911, a GSG 22. Now im wanting to dress it up with some custom grips. What I dont know is are all 1911 grips interchangable? Anything I need to look for?

The grips for the GSG are standard 1911 . No problem with other 1911 grips.
On mine however, the grip screws on the GSG are a different threading.

The ambi safety isn't the same as what we are use to, at least mine isn't. The right side grip needs to be hogged out a bit for it.

Well since I was getting my slide arma coated I bought standard sights from Fusion Firearms and filed them to fit. What was nice about those sights they came with a blind pin for the front post and a screw in type for the rear.

But since the Arma Coat my GSG will only cycle CC! stingers

I polished the heck out of the internals , slide & frame on my GSG and now can shoot any 22LR ammo.

time to lighten that slide and try to take some metal off the inside...
