Dressing up a NP29. Before and after

Here is my Baby. I changed the grip, and the trigger boat. I had polished lot of internal parts. I have a few questions.
1) My toy is kind of rattle a bit, I am wondering how to tighten the slide? Or, do I need to do so? Now , it shoots well.
2) And also, for the new barrel from ed brown, should I order any barrel fits the standard 1911a1 model? It there anything I should be very careful about buying a new barrel for NP29?

Thanks lot.

I have the exact same gun, also am interested in how you tightened the slide up. Thinking of doing a full overhaul on mine, wet sand up to 2000 grit on flats and hi polish slide and frame to mirror shine.

Hi Guys,
I used the video in the link as a guide to tighten the frame rails. I machined all the pieces necessary myself. I modified an old dial caliper to measure the slide rails.
I also very strongly recommend to read the Jerry Kuhnhausen book: "Colt .45 Automatic a shop manual" !

A friend obtained the barrel for me abroad. It was not drop in! The hood needs to be machined to fit in the slide. The locking grooves on top need to be filed to the proper depth as well.
If you're happy with the accuracy of your gun, use it as it is.

Just thought i would jump in here. I also have an NP29 which i haven't done anything with at all except put rounds through it. Works great so far and and its very reliable. The only thing i see with it as well as few other norincos is how rough the back of the cartridge is where the head stamp is. A fired case from my NP29 looks like it was rubbed across cement due to the rough finish where the cartridge sits when loaded. Im sort of thinking this may wear out my brass prematurely as I reload. I would like to stone this area but am concerned i could have head space problems if I work on that area... Any issues cleaning it up?

If you just take the high spots off with a stone, you should not have any issues. If the head of the cartridge is flush with the back of the hood on the barrel you should be ok.
