I've got an older 870 express that isn't pre D&T'd from factory. Ive got the Millet picatini rail section for the 870. Anyone in Vancouver that can D&T this for me? I have access to a shop to do this myself but I'd rather not fuk it up.... Thanks!

Just did my 870 a couple weeks ago. If you have a drill press and attention to detail you can do it yourself. Or just ask a gunshop to do it.

Just do it yourself. All you need to do is find center of the receiver, scribe a line, drill and tap. The receiver will sit nice and flat in a drill press vise so set up is easy. The size of hole and what threads you tap is up to you. Depends on what works well with the rail you bought. On an 870 you go all the way through and pick a screw length that doesn't go all the way (or grind em down so they don't) to prevent the bolt snagging on the roof.

You also keep saying 'factory D&T'... well 99% of 870's made didn't come with holes in the receiver. It's not common. Only in recent years did they start selling models with rails on em. So just place the holes for the rail you bought using hardware that suits the rail holes and life will be dandy.

And if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, strip the receiver and take it and the rail to a regular machine shop as a walk in. They will often do it on the spot. The rail should come with the screws and if not they should have them laying around No.6 or 8 screws should do fine, and it's a 10 minute job max if they know what they're doing
