Drive how far?

I drive 5.5 hours to shoot 1700 yards! We can shoot 2000+ if we get off our asses and do some hiking to set up our targets:D I would say this is pretty decent for Ontario:cool:

Hmmm, I drive 2.5 to 3 hours. It's a private hunt club and we stay the weekend. There is 1500m over water to property also owned by the club and up to 500m on land.

Making a pile of dirt on the farm this summer into which we just might shoot (can't call it a range, otherwise it would need to be approved, even for non-restricted). About 500m. The farm is half an hour away.

30 min by truck from my house to the local range.

30 min by boat to my 1400 yard gong

2 hrs by truck if i want to shoot the same gong from the road

For those like myself in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, there simply isn't much choice of crown land that will allow any real long range shooting easily accessible AND free of others using the said land on the Ontario side.

On the Quebec side my uncle's farm is an hr and half north, but none of the field openings are longer than 300yards. Would need to cut an opening to extend it so to shoot from further back, but would be a time consuming option, along with cutting down a portion of trees that really don't need too.

So punching paper at long distances can only be done at the range we have here (Connaught DND range).

I have a 20 min drive to shoot at "the airport" and I can shoot out to 500y there, or I will be making the 2 h drive to Borden a bunch if times this year to shoot out to 1000, and yes there is some crown land within a 2 hour drive to shoot out to 700-800 easy or with some work 1100!
