Hi guys,

I have a nice military SMLE No. 1 Mk III*. Unfortunately, it shoots to the right fairly severely. As in the group isn't even 'above' the front sight blade.

Worse, my skill with open sights is, well, not so good.

I'd like to take the old girl hunting, but as it is, I just don't feel comfortable that I could hit what I was aiming at.

I'm ok with aperture sights and/or scopes, so I found the following product

http://ww w.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=157626

Looks to me like it will just replace the existing rear sight assembly. I am not willing to make any permanent changes to the rifle (such as drilling/tapping)

Unfortunately, I can't find a retailer who will ship to Canada

So, my questions are:

1.) does anyone know where I can get one of these Mojo Micro Click rear sights (or a similar product) in canada.

2.) if not, are there any good scope mounting or receiver sight options for an SMLE No. 1 mk III* that do not require drilling and tapping (the search function leads me to believe the answer to this question is no - but may as well ask).

Thanks

Fat

Hi Fat,

Well first, thanks for finding that sight - it seems to be a really good idea and nice part!

Second, in my experience there very few good "no gunsmith" scope mounts for the N01Mk3; I haven't tried the S&K mount though, that'd be the only potential good one I believe. Anyone else has tried it?

Have you contacted Mojo Sights directly to see if Canada is considered "international" by them? Or if they can suggest a Canadian distributor?

If you want an aperture sight for your SMLE, I suggest that you try finding a Parker Hale PH5A sight. They pop up from time to time on Ebay.

I got Mojo sights for my #1 and my M48A shipped to me directly from Mojo Sights earlier this year, paid via Western Union at the local Walmart, shipped on USPS. Give them a call and see if they can still do it.

i tried it on my smle and went back to the original open site.
i found it too far from my eye to use i prefer the no 4 rear apeture but not this mojo so far down the barrel

thanks guys,

I did contact them, and they are going to send me the sight for an additional fee.

When I get a minute, I'll install and give a range report.

I'm not expecting miracles - but If I can consistenty get 2 moa out of the old girl I will be happy - not to mention the luxury of windage adjustment.
