Will the most length version work with the Chinese Norinco 8" 870 clones??
do you mean the 8.5 grizzly 870 version? I wouldnt think so, I had one and tried to have another sponsor here try to install/modify a serbu folding forend but the magazine tube is thicker then a normal 870 so they weren't able to get it to fit.

Yes the grizzly, brutal. Was hoping it would have worked with it being a 870 clone and all

The other option would be just to weld the min knuckle and handle direct to the factory pump hardware.

Yer kinda hard to get a pattern on somthing that came out in 1980
Do you know how long Patent's last? Maybe 20 years? I know Serbu has not been willing to sell their parts outside of the US for years and part of me wondered how long it would take Canadians to manufacture such a simple implement..... it occurred to me that a patent might be getting in the way but if they patented their folding grip in the 80's that would mean Canadian manufacturers are 20 years late to the party..... :)

Better late then never.

20yrs on a full patent, sometime less if it's a utility patent.
Serbu was not the 1st or even the 3rd person to manufacturer 870 folding grip.
So I'd be very surprised if he even applied for a US patent.

I've been thinking about doing this for years, but just have not had the time.
I have several other interesting project we hope to complete this year.

Right on, I've never seen any knockoffs till this year, and suddenly we have 2 made in Canada options!

I also can't really think of any other integrated folding 870 foreends, though I have used some rail mounted folding grips before on picatinny rails.

Who were the first 3 to make integrated folding vertical grip 870 pump foreend/assemblies?

Regardless, good luck and hopefully you guys can size them to fit the Chinese shorty clones as well.

Wilson arms. Not Wilson combat started doing it in the late 70s early 80,s. On both Ithaca 37 ans rem 870s.
They also build the guns for the Original Miami vice show. 1982 to 85.

Safery Harbour in Florida. They also no longer make them.

I've also seen them on on French SF guys it was a fabarm or franchise pump gun I got to play with it for a few, mins ba k in 1995 when I was in amd we were doing a Breaching course.

There a few others I'd have to dig up.
One of the older Jane's encyclopedia I have showd a few with folding grips.

Thanks for filling in the history Simon!
Speaking of Ithaca 37's..... some Canadian "stake out" options would be nice.... :)
