Finally got drawn for Mule deer this year in my home zone and it's too damn dry to hunt anywhere down here, the fire risk is just too great. All of the ranches and community pastures in the area where the big boys roam are closed to hunting until it either rains significantly or snows. It could be 10 more years before I'm drawn again in my backyard and I might not even get a chance to punch my tag this year.
What are the odds that SERM would extend rifle season in these zones to the end of November in the event we don't get any Fall moisture but hopefully some late fall snow? Not likely, right? Or give those of us drawn in these tinder dry areas the option of returning our tags and putting us back in the Super 'A' pool.
I'm sure I'll get flamed here by all of those that didn't get drawn, I'm just frustrated and needed to rant.
