Hello fellow CGNers!
Just bought a used TP9SF, and I'm planning on doing some dry fire training with this pistol.
The problem is, I have heard from multiple forums that TP9SF has issues with cracked firing pins after extensive dry firing. The striker spring seems to be too strong on these guns.
I have heard that replacing the striker spring with a weaker Glock striker spring will prevent this problem, but will doing so cause failure to fire when live firing? If you have replaced the striker springs on your Canik, please chime in with your choice of spring and your experience, thanks!
Also, if I keep the stock striker spring, will using a snap cap prevent this issue? Is there any durable snap caps that you would recommend? And is there any good laser ammo / dry firing practice system that's available in Canada?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Cheers!

Also, where can I buy spare firing pins for Canik pistols in Canada? Saw a few online stores in US, but it seems that they can't ship gun parts across the border.
Thanks!

I would contact Canik and see what they say about this potential problem. If they do say it's a possible problem, I would ask what their solution is. I would also inquire about spare parts at the same time for good measure.

Or, as noted above, use snap caps.

Just stop pulling the trigger in dry fire. Most books on it say to avoid it. Focus on transitions and movement. Get to A class in one year easy.

Even former Seals say you should dry fire your handguns, makes for PERFECT practice. And as mentioned by Kopanoak, use snap caps, 100 % safe. Fire away. I dry fire my Canik all the time, great training before going to the range and spending money on ammo. IMHO

seems like everybody and his dog is/was a navy seal- so I would take all advice bearing that name with a MAJOR grain of salt unless I VERIFIED the source-

I don't know any SEALs, but a couple of guys from my club were shot and fragged in Afghanistan.

They recommended dry firing with snap caps at home sitting in front of the TV. Just close the
blinds first so as not to upset any snoopy Liberals.
