I was just wondering if dry firing my Colt King Cobra revolver will damage the firing pin in any way. Should I use snap caps or are they really necessary?
I don't know about the King Cobra, but I dry fired a New Service once too often and was rewarded with the tinkle of a firing pin going down the barrel. I"m a confirmed snap cap user now.
