Dry firing GSG 1911

if you look at the assembly of the fireing pin in modern handgun and rifle, you will notice that there is a notch or block or pin which stops the pin from overtravel,,its a safety device that prevents the pin from causing damage to barrel face or bolt ,, so dont worry and dry fire away

Are you saying that the GSG is so designed? Or are you making a generic comment based on .... ?

I am trying to remember back to when I tore mine down.......doesnt the firing pin return spring and the notched area of the fp limit the forward fravel?? I think there is a schematic in the manual that may answer your question.

All I know is that I broke my firing pin while dry firing mine with dummy rounds... just go to the range and shoot it .22 is cheap

Shot the GSG for the first time today with Fed HV 36 gr and CCI MiniMag 40 gr. Shot both quite well, but had a few stoppages with both, which I attribute to the cold, new barrel bushing and guide rod. Accuracy wise, the CCI had the edge.

I found that if I hit the slide stop to load from lock back, I often had a stove pipe (with all 5 mags), but if I inserted the mag and pulled back the slide to chamber from battery, it chambered every time.

Other than that, I think the gun will wear in well.
