So anyone else in a hunting dry spell right now? The last 6 times I went coyote hunting, I haven't seen a darn thing. It is a little bit disheartening but I realize that this is exactly the reason why they call it hunting... The last trip out this morning, I hit over 4 stands and I didn't see a single coyote. Normally, as I am driving in and out I will see some but for some reason I am not seeing anything. I did see 6 mule deer (3x big bucks) and 15 Antelope but not a single yote...

I'm sympathetic, but I'm not really worried about you, yet. I ended a two-year drought of big-game on Monday when I took my first antelope.

What dry spell? Its deer and elk season just west of here, I have to be careful not to use all my tags in the same day. That said, I get a buzz of the quiet hours sitting or walking in the bush when there is nothing going on. I'd rather be there than anywhere else.

Ask yourself,

1) "If I were a wounded and dieing duck or goose, where would I go to become a free meal for a lazy coyote?"

2) "If I were a lazy coyote, why would I look for anything else when dinner justs keep falling out of the sky?"

Story writes itself from there.;)

I just about went crazy on the way into work. I saw a coyote at the edge of the Hwy in and a tear slowly leaked out of my eye. Everything about that was true less the tear.

last two i've seen... same thing! as I'm passing bye them in the van!

Been out calling twice since our season opened! nothing, hell even the last fox came after I sat down on the can! I watched from the bathroom window... only baited the buggers for three days then I actually got caught with my pants down!

Lots of season left.
