I've got a Frankford Arsenal vibrating tumbler. I used treated walnut shells, and pieces of used dryer sheets. The brass is nice and shiny, but I noticed some residue inside the cases and primer pockets.i blew the cases and pockets out with air. I cleaned it out of the primer pockets with q-tips and the necks off the cases (270 win) and ran the q-tips in the case. Am I being to fussy? Will what residue that is left in the case affect my powder. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance

I've never had crushed walnut clog the flash holes, which I find a problem with corn cobs. Having a chunk of walnut shell in the primer pocket would make priming a tad difficult, but my experience is, while retrieving clean cases from the tumbler, I give each one a tap case mouth facing down, the loose junk falls out, and I guess anything in the primer pocket must bounce out because I have never had a problem with that. I use next to no "polish" - Brasso, or the same stuff in Dillon or Hornady colors - so it the media is not sticky. A quarter of a dryer anti-static cloth (Bounce) keeps the dust down, and since I don't lick my fingers while reloading I don't worry about lead levels.
