Hi all,

Check out DSSMatch.com for info!

The TacRifle circuit at TMSA has been running for 13 years. It has now merged with CFGPA (Chilliwack) and founded Dynamic Sport Shooting BC Association!

"Why was this done?"

This allows us to have an Association bank account and pool resources to buy props and equipment to support member club sections.

"I hear you have to have some kinda safety course?"

We were trying to expand dynamic sport shooting into other venues and the Boards there were exercising Due Diligence and asking how we can demonstrate participants meet basic safety standards. We worked together to come up with CASE.

"What is CASE"

This stands for Competency and Safety Exam. It is formally structured to assess participant's ability to safely use a long arm while competing in dynamic matches. This requires they demonstrate an ability to safely move, change positions, shoot from a variety of positions, reload, etc. Accuracy isn't tested... SAFETY is.

"Is this just a cash grab?"

CASE challenges and "Intro to Tac Rifle Competition" courses have been run for free, or very limited cost.

For experienced competitors we've been completing CASE as a closely invigilated stage which tests the parameters laid out. We also ran an "Intro to Tac Rifle competition" course at Chilliwack in April. These were done for free. June 18 at CFGPA and June 26 at TMSA are the last opportunities for experienced participants to "challenge" the CASE. We are also running another "Intro" course at TMSA on June 25. This will be free for TMSA members, and will only have a reduced Day Card ($20) for non-members.

"What happens to all the money?"

All monies collected are accounted for and go towards supporting events and the Association. The Association is a Society, and Members will be able to participate at the Annual General Membership Meeting (to be scheduled for Dec or Jan), vote on Directors, and see the books. In the meantime, the Executive will be happy to share info with any interested Member.

"This is cool... I wish my Range had this."

We plan to make our material modular so we can help other Clubs in BC set up successful Tac Rifle sections. We've tried to set things up in such a way that they don't all HAVE to be the SAME, they just have to be safe.
