I just recieved my new DT11 Sporter. What a lovely gun and someone had my measurements made he made this one. The guns are made in the Premium gunshop alongside the SO. It is a bit wider and heavier than my old DT10L and weighs in at 8Lbs 9.6 Oz or three Oz more. it sports new barrels called "Steelium Pro". I don't have al the info on that, yet! Both barrels are 18.6 mm. The chokes have longer threads and of a new and different tapper than the old Optima. They are also marked 18.6. It is maybe 1 Oz nose heavy. The triggers are good and both feel the same, as I can't find my trigger pull gear. But I will have Mario from Beretta Italy bring them down to my liking of 1.5Kg while in Budapest next week for the Euro Compak. The wood is nice and well filled. I will put a bit of English gun wax and oil on it tonight, to bring out the grain more and give it a little shine. I will be at La Roue du Roy this Saturday to try it out and maybe do a few patterns, if I have time. Here are the pics:

What comes with it, 5 chokes (Cyl, Skeet, IC, Mod, Imod), old style notched choke key, spare sights, spare trigger shoe, screwdriver and stock removal tool. BTW, One does not need to remove the pad to remove the stock!

Henry ... good looking piece !

Read some comments from Russell Mark on one of the Australian sites who has
been shooting his DT-11 Trap since at least February. He's quite happy with it and
will no doubt be shooting it in London this summer.

The DT-11 frame is apparently 3 mm wider than the DT-10 to add a little
"between the hands weight' (strength ... non- issue) that some shooters
desired. The tri-alloy Steeliumbarrels are something of a new manufacturing
hammer-forge process with barrels featuring much longer forcing cones, some speculating that they are one long taper from chamber to choke. Supposedly this new barrel manufacuring process & design contributes to less "muzzle flip" and
reduced felt recoil - not less recoil - but less perceived or felt recoil.

I'm still happy with my 2000 vintage DT-10. It has been absolutely reliable since
new. I gave up on a round count after the first 4 or 5 years, but estimate now
it's easily at 75,000 and may well have surpassed 100k.

Let us know how you make out with it at Hemmingford on the weekend.

Looking into the barrels, at just over 3 inches I see a small tapered step and NO forcing cone. You might be right about the LONG taper. The barrels at 18.6 are only .732. Beretta has so many engineers working so they must of found the ideal dimension. BTW, I am shooting RC 4 Excellence and RC Red Supernik while in HUngary. They are the most consistent ammo out there with 9 FPS Standard Deviation! I was able to pattern my gun (DT10L) with my chokes (MUller 2 & 3) at a measured 35 M. Some of the best patterns ever! Nobody in NA makes ammo as good!

Very nice! What barrel length did you get and what is the barrel weight? Do you feel less muzzle flip/recoil?

edit: noticed your old post saying it's 32" barrels.

Also how much is a flat of RC 4 in Hungary?

They claim that the new barrels reduce flip. I will see tomorrow. They are now in stock at Stoeger.

please look at the fore-end in picture 2

it looks like damage

pls clarify --all info is appreciated

also

is it real wood or remanufactured wood beretta uses on some semi's

thank you

No damage to the foreend. It is sweat! I will take a picture later. The wood is REAL. It is still absorbing stock oil!
OFF to the range!

Shot it today, WOW! It has at least half the felt recoil of the DT10! Even Elia Dracchia coach for the ISSF Skeet teams of Bahrain and UAE, said that it was so. He was coaching to 2 members on "Move-Mount & Shoot" with great success after two hours. Going back in two days for 4 months of coaching.

I did some pattern testing on a pond with some members that have now discovered "patterns & shotstring"! The Steelium Pro barrels and Optima HP chokes, shoot tighter patterns. Gun Club patterns terribly while Top Gun shows much better. I also shot AA 2 3/4 dr 7.5 and Federal Paper 8s. The best looking was the Federal Paper. It was an eye openner for the members. Clays were ink balled even with the IC choke way out there. I had to get use to the triggers as they have a bit of creep and are heavier than my DT10L. This week in Budapest, I will have Mario from Beretta Italy take out the creep and bring them down to a crisp 1.5Kg. The weight is in between the hands so it is easy to correct for an erratic target!

They have modified the crossbolt on the DT11. It sticks out a bit on the left and the lever is off center to the right. They have aparently added metal for wear and tear thus increasing longetivity before a replacement crossbolt and service is needed.

After a nice lunch (7 inch sub with rosbeef, cheese and caramilsed onion) with my friend Bruno and some fine private import Leano wine, we were off to shoot the ore difficult part of the sporting course. I used the AA and Federal Paper exclusively with some very impressive results even at distance. This thing shoots very well!

Great news! Nice wood as well, I really liked my DT10, DT11 looks interesting ;)

Edit to add: I always thought for fit, feel and function, the DT10 was as close to a K-80 you could get without it being one. for 2/3rds the price and
an overall lighter and faster handling package. It kind of combines the best features of a perazzi and krieghoff with a twist of beretta for good measure :)

A little bit of wine with lunch does not make you a drunk. It is completly normal in Europe. BTW, the Austrians start at 7am drinking beer when I shot the Euro FITASC Sporting there!
