Dtac bullets

My understanding is they are a Sierra bullet, and DTAC is the brand name of the factory ammunition. Why not get some Sierra bullets?
 
You can contact/order directly order the bullets but not the completed cartridges from DTAC - with the provision that the order does not exceed $100. Also, depending upon the mood of CBSA they might seize the bullets under ITAR as reloading components sort of fall into a grey area.

Make certain you clearly specify the 'Final Finish' or 'TPS' bullets. DTAC's technical support is excellent. And, you will need to know if the barrel is factory finish or lapped (will determine the type of grit level you will use - grades 1 thru 5).

If you don't have the ability to reload the cartridges you have someone who can help.
 
yes sierra does make the bullets for dtac but they are a special bullet that david tubb designed and sierra does not sell as there own only dtac sells them.

i have spoke with dtac they only sell in quantities of 500 or more which is alot more then the $100 dollar mark so i have been on a search to find a supplier or distributor in canada for them but am not finding very much success
 
Nobody is bringing in the DTACs anymore. Fortunately, Matrix Ballistics is making a thick jacketed 117 gr VLD that seems to have a significantly higher BC (in my own tests vs. a pointed DTAC).
 
Or you could try the Berger 105 hybrid which has a higher bc than all of them. Not sure about the Matrix 117 but the hybrid has a higher bc than both the Dtacs and the 115 vld. Plus you can run them faster.

The matrix literally blows all of them out of the water as far as bc is concerned I can't wait to try them
 
No I wanted to try the 115 dtac but even it is a little heavy for my twist right now I've been using 105 Bergers so the 107 should work nicely and then I saw the bc of there .284 bullets and have to try them and if those 2 work good I will try them in some of my other calibers. Mostly I just enjoy trying different stuff so constantly searching for different components. I also prefer to support Canadian company's so I matrix makes a good bullet I'll be happy to use them and they were actually cheaper then what I've been buying my Bergers for

The hybrids have a higher BC than the DTAC did before Tubb started pointing them (value Litz's book is before pointing), it's lower than the DTACs once they're pointed and DTACs are only available pointed now.
 
I haven't seen them, but Bryan Litz tells me that the meplats are already tiny and that not much will be gained from pointing them...
