DU Guns

I have a great affinity for the guns I started out with and though I love my doubles and exotics these are the guns I remember seeing growing up and was lucky or let's say most fortunate to get a couple of "as new" DU guns .Remember going to the dinners and looking at them on the table ,but here are a couple that never seen a Duck blind, 1100 12 g upland and 20 g 870 LW and still might not

I had a bunch of DU guns back in the day but eventually sold them all off. In fact I had one I used for 32 seasons of skeet and hunting before I sold it and my remaining DU stuff with the exception of two prints off a few years ago. It was my last one. They had some nice ones years back.

One thing about buying DU guns regardless of their "low quality" which I take exception with having had several before these is they were purchased by buyers that were not usually intended to be used hard. Therefore in fact they are little used survivors of days gone by, I do not buy guns for value I buy them for me.

DU did have some pretty nice dinner guns. I wouldn't call a Browning A-5 or a Ruger O/U low quality.
During the years that I was on a DU committee, the guns did become rather mundane.

yes that's true a hand full literally out of 1000's
my point is all the items are gear fee towards fund raising not putting out a investment grade gun or art work
i have been to many du events
where 10-30 of more pieces are auctioned off and there are 100's of du events every year
although as of late the attendance and events are fewer
people are misled when it comes to du values

Some were quite nice I just can't support du due to their politics and management style. I fully support buying what makes you happy and brings you joy. Congrats on your acquisition

to be fair to DU the gun of the year series were guns of quality which are the ones that have people have mentioned
but there are many with a pasted du emblem on them that were sold at events simply as auction items

Not all DU Guns are created equal….
