Hey guys. Just picked up an FNX Tactical 45 and want to get a red dot for it. I'm not sure which way to go.

Was either going to get the rm07 led 6.5moa ($725+tax)

or the dual illumination rm05 with 9moa Amber. ($525+tax)

It will be mainly for my pistol but can mount it on my CX4 Storm 9mm.

Have done some research about the pros and cons of both. But still not sure the way to go.

Any info would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone knows a dealer that sells them cheaper, please let me know.

Regards.

Eric.

I have owned four dual illuminated rmr's. I love them. Not all are created equal though when it comes to the reticle. Some of mine were considerably brighter in low light conditions than others. All are excellent outdoors.

I found the green reticles easier to pick up than the amber reticles, and the triangle reticle better than the dot since it gives a tip to aim with great accuracy.

The led models will give better indoor reticles, but not as good outdoors. Also, batteries suck and the reason I transitioned to the dual illuminated models is because I always seem to have batteries die at the most inoppotune moments.

Finally, I would recommend trying a RMR on a pistol before buying. It's not for everyone. It wasn't for me. All my RMR's sit on rifles. I found it much slower to pick up than irons. It will take lots of practice to increase your speed with the RMR on a pistol

Thanks for the info.
I ended up purchasing the RM07 with picatinny mount so I can use it on my pistols and rifles. It was not cheap. But atleast I have the best one.

Buy once, cry once I guess.
