Dual purpose gun trap/skeet

stubblejumper, you may find trap boring but the objective in the game of trap and as well skeet is to shoot perfect scores every round, and not how many can I break this round.Put that pressure on yourself everytime you step to the line and you will see you wont find it boring.

When I shoot skeet,my objective is to sharpen my shooting skills by simulating the conditions that I will face while shooting upland birds,in other words targets flying away from me,towards me,from right to left, from left to right, and the same types of shots with two targets.
Since I don't have access to a local sporting clays field, skeet is my best option, since the shooting conditions are much more realistic than trap, where the targets are all flying away from the shooter.I find that aspect of trap to be boring.

I shoot trap, skeet and sporting clays and I find myself defending trap to the recreational skeet and sporting clay shooters all the time. These are mostly bird hunters who love there wingshooting.

I am a hunter that enjoys wingshooting upland birds much more than waterfowl, and skeet lets me simulate that type of shooting, much better than trap.

My question is is there a quality all around gun that could be used for all clay disciplines and games? And if so could anyone recommend a suitable gun?

Yes,Sailingvan a Beretta 686E,30" barrels with choke tubes and adjustable comb is all you will ever need to play the GAME of trap, skeet or sporting clay;)

P.S. That is a sporting 12 gauge

You can "shoot" trap or skeet with any gun you want. If you want to be good at it, as noted above that means 100/100 or 200/200 you will want a trap gun or skeet gun exclusively for that sport.
The trap shooters I know dont want to break as many as they can........they want to break 'em all - all the time.

A friend of mine uses a browning XT trap combo. Shoots a realy good game of trap. And for skeet he uses the same gun but changes his chokes and shoots 25's. I use an 1100 trap gun. It's not so good for skeet and sporting.

Still no reply from Smokem all as to how many 400s he has shot in his life,or even 100s for that matter. If skeet is as easy to master as he claims,he must have shot many perfect rounds.:D
