I'm looking to get some new duck decoys for the fall. I'm looking for some Mag size Black duck decoys. I'm looking in the $200 to $300 a dozen range. Can anyone suggest a good decoy company? Do any of the sponsors carry decoys?

For stubble shooting cut a shingle in half roll it into a cone on one end and rivet or staple together paint the tab strip flat black as it shines and two or three hundred dollars will get you hundreds of decoys. They last many years and work well.

The only Black Duck decoys I have are the older Flambeau ones with the weighted keel. Now these decoys are about 20 years old, but are really durable and still provide success for me every year. A couple of them have #2 shot rattling around inside of them from a trigger happy hunter a couple years back who couldn't tell the difference.

The higdons are pretty nice. Foam fill are unsinkable as well.

These are the exact decoys I have! 18 Mallards & 6 Blacks... Foam filled SuperMag Battleship IIRC. They are VERY nice decoys @ roughly $90 for 6.

Have a look at St.Laurence Outfitters, that is where I got mine. And, make sure you buy the proper decoy weights & line, it allows you to stow the line & weight properly. Also make sure you buy the decoy bag that has it's own little compartment for each decoy, this prevents them from being damaged in the traditional "decoy bag"...

Cheers

I just texas rig them and skip the bags all together. I usually only use the slotted bags for the ghg cuz they scratch so easily.
