A couple good stories in this thread.

Before I bought my little boat I thought about getting a canoe. Two problems: I can't swim and I shoot heavy loads. I had a visual of firing that damned shotgun and going over sideways.

Great story. Glad the worst thing that happened was just cold and muddy. You'll laugh telling this story for years to come.

I have never tied my gun off while going duck hunting with my dad... but that is a great idea and I'll definitely be doing that this fall. We don't have the risk of tipping the boat over, but it's usually so packed with duck and goose decoys, burlap and a blind that sometimes things are precariously perched where they shouldn't be.
