You have to check with the townships in the areas you plan to hunt to see what they have in their by laws pertaining to distances. Provincial laws dictate that the Crown owns the waters and that Municipalities do not have ownership rights over those waters but they may set shoreline distances pursuant to provincial law for safety/noise issues. Provincial law in Ontario says you may hunt to the natural high water mark and that you must remain a minimum of 100 yards from a dwelling. I got that from an OPP Sergeant in writing a couple years ago when I was having issues with people complaining where I was hunting along the North Bay city front on Lake Nipissing.
