Duckbill ithaca 37

You guys know the last year even up to just now how restrictive everything is. I will try and get a target to show the results but it’s nothing special. I will maybe try bird shot you might be able to tell with more pellets on the target what the pattern looks like. Forgotten weapons did a test with a duckbill choke and he cheated the pattern by using two shots. I’d say it more rapid spreads the shot then widens it out.

James Watson approves.

These duckbills are meant to be used with #4 buckshot or smaller, larger pellets aren't the way to go.

Lovely shotgun with a very interesting history in wartime SE Asia.
I am an Ithaca nut to a degree but cannot bring myself to seek out an identical model. Too much to commit to #4 buckshot. And I own three extended mag variants and both models of Stakeout

Still, it's very cool.

Forgive my relative ignorance, but couldn't one just do the duckbill cut to the barrel itself?
Why wouldn't you want to do that?

Experiments at the USN weapons test facility China Lake demonstrated these special adaptions of duck bill choke have shorter lifetime until they develop stress fractures.
Hence they perform best with smaller buckshot.
Something like that....
