so i just ordered a marcus duckbilleless sks mag adaptor i found it on the survivor forum . its an adaptor that lets you cut the duckbill off tapco mags,
the guy is in texas and has been good to deal with so far .

i have been VERY happy with tapco mags not ever a problem and getting rid of the duckbill is the only thing i would do to make them better.

im his first canadian customer too not that it matters lol.

i will post on how they are when they show up.

i also did the bolt mod today to allow me to put in and take out mags with closed action, if u have tapco mags and havnt done the bolt mod do it its great.

what do you guys think

I like the idea, subscribed.

If a guy installed it via a recessed pin and left it installed would it still be possible to completely strip the rifle?

Im curious if he would be willing to sell modified mags, and after that If he is willing to sell pinned modified mags to Canadians.

You may want to record all your findings with his product, to give us a detailed review along with giving him a detailed review of what a Canadian thinks, getting our foot in the door.

I have seen the website before and gone through it. I personally think it is a waist of time and money. I have several Tapco 5/20 duckbill mags and they
function great. You cut up a functioning magazine for what to get rid of a couple of inches of duckbill. Now if this mod was done to adapt cheaper AK mags I would be interested.

:agree::agree:

the mags are worth 20/25 bucks in the USA i have never paid more then 30 here but i have been lucky (parents are snow birds).

my understandin is that u cannot adapt a ak mag to sks without some machining to sks mag well so u would need more then adaptor to make that work . state side tapco mags are cheaper then ak also perform better then the steel duckbill chopped ak mags that go for about 35 bucks in states.

if you see no need to rid yourself of the bill fine, but i know all the mag pouchs in my tac vest gun bag and ak mag web belts from princess auto and so on will not fit the duckbill unlike any other mag (AR) without the bill.

i agree that the tapco mag itself works great as is .

i will post results when i get parts and install em. he said that they were sent out last wednesday .

ok so i have installed the marcus duckbillless adaptor into my tapco stock 51 sks. it took a bit of work with a file to install into the sks. all of it was covered in the instructions. i had to drill a small hole in the stock to press a steel pin through to hold the adaptor in place which is made from aluminum.the whole process took not much more then a half hour after reading instructions twice. when cleaning it interfears in no way of disassembly of gun for cleaning

cutting the mags duckbill off was no problem to do ,i used a bandsaw and cut it a hair larger then needed then finised it to size with a file. after moding the 4th mag i can do it in under 5 minutes.
at the range the mags worked flawlessly not a failure to chamber eject or nothing not one single problem.

when mag is installed u have to rock it into lock much like a ak mag or even the same as when it had the duckbill on it but better because NO DUCK BILL woowho .the mags without the bill on em fit all mag pockets in my bags tack vests and so on just like any other mag should

its a great addition to my gun no regrets at all

i cant figure out how to post pics i always mess it up but if somebody pms me with a email address thats willing to post i will send out tonight when i get home
