Bought a nice used 226 Elite with Tru Dot adjustable sights.

question- can the sights be re-nuked (new Tritium)? I will contact the manufacturer; just wondering if anybody has had it done on any brand.

Have seen some references online to having them redone.

As fox said though, likely much less expensive to switch them for new ones.

A while back, TacOrd used to replace the inserts but they no longer do it. Don't know who else will but yeah, might be easier to just replace 'em. I used to think my night sights were cool but after a while, I realized they aren't the greatest for regular shooting esp competition and prefer blacked out rears and a fiber optic front.

Some sights use tritium paint, they can easily be re-coated.

But many use tritium gas vials which are not easy to replace, it would be easier to buy new.

I sent Mepro an e-mail, we'll see what they say. i read Trijicon will install new vials for $50.
