Hey guys, my first real step into the Black and Green Rifle world...but I had a chance to shoot an XCR-M .308 a few weeks back and I can't get it out of my mind! :) I'm convinced I need an XCR-L .223 and even have the cash for one...but nobody has them. Here is the dumb question~does ANYBODY have even a rough estimate as to when they might hit the ground here? (I'm in Southern Ontario) I've reached out to a couple of dealers and based on their frustrated-sounding tone, they've either been asked the question a million times....or they simply don't have any idea themselves. I'd like to make a move on a new one before common sense gets the better of me. Anybody have the inside scoop? IS there a scoop? :)

Only interested in new rifles.

Thanks for taking a moment to reply..

OP, try posting a WTB ad on here, you might just be surprised what you get offered. i just picked up an "impossible to find" bolt action that i've been wanting for a long time. had a super nice CGN'er reply to my WTB and i ended up with his 22 rounds fired pristine rifle. it's worth a shot at least and it's free to try . best of luck......waiting sucks

+ 1 to Wolverine Supplies. Their price is unbeatable in Canada and their service is top notch. Because of this thread I just ordered my XCR-L .223 in Black (Non-Restricted). Should have it by mid Summer :)

Very excited for this purchase!

Just watch the dealers notes.. I saw a note in January that Al Simmons had some, I called I had it in under a week. It's pretty now..

Cabela's Edmonton had a couple the last time I was there. Can't think of anywhere else they have been in stock lately but they come and go regularly. Just keep calling around and you will find one.

Eek...mid-summer? :( Is that a typical lead time? I've spent too much time online and on the phone looking for one of these. The whole idea of getting one of these is starting to lose it's luster..

There seem to be a lot of tavors to be had as well... You can always buy a used XCR. I just did, and I don't regret it one bit. It has already been broken in for me :p

I've contacted 2 other local dealers and 1 said 14 weeks, and another said 8 months. Both were ALOT more expensive than where I got mine from. Well worth the wait :)

Lead time for ordering any restricted in Canada was usually a few months last year. Ordering and waiting for black rifles and restricteds now that sandy hook happened is probably measured in half years if they give you a eta at all.
