Hi CGN,

Does anybody have any information about the durability of the plastic Diemaco BUIS vs a not aluminum one like the Troy or DD a1.5?

I know Glock and Magpul have proved polymers can be as durable as metal. I have a Diemaco and dig that it's Canadian and matches my Colt, but was looking at trading up for the DD a1.5 or Troy.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks

I've had mine split because of over tightening. I'm constantly checking to ensure my issued sights are tight as they have a tendency to loosen with hard use. I no longer use the issued BUIS, piece of garbage IMO. The nut also gets in the way of cocking the rifle.

Good point with the nut getting in the way. I suppose it's just a cool factor thing, because these sights go for quite a lot on the EE. I'm liking the Daniel defense A1.5 or the Troy's.
