I am thinking about buying a new Remington Model 7 Predator. It has factory camo on the barrel and I am wondering how well this wears and if it wears off or is nicked what is under it? Any comments on this rifle and/or its camo would be appreciated. Thanks,

No expereince with it, but it should hold up fine. And even if it gets some chips, it won't damage the "camo" part of it- You and animals will probbaly not be able to see it well, even with chips.:)

Looked at one yesterday, along with the Savage Predator. The M7 looked like a better camo job, and a lighter contour, fluted barrel as well. Not sure on the durability, but I'm sure it'd be fine.

ive never owned a camo gun, but my dad bought a camo shotgun several years ago. i remember him paying a nice premium for it (even now many camo versons are $100-200 more), and it looked like ass after just one season.

has the current generation of camo solved all the old problems with mosquito repellent, gun oils, cleaners, etc and the tendency to bubble in some areas and trap moisture underneath and corrode the gun?

only thing i wanted one for is turkey hunting, but i think ill just stick with a blued gun wrapped with camo tape or a rifle rag.
