So I have a post '64 Winchester 94 with a terrible finish. I have been considering for a while now using the non-bake shake and spray duracoat system to refinish it. However, I am loath to completely disassemble the gun for finishing as my reading has indicated these guns can be difficult to re-assemble.
If I were to close the action and then spray it, will the duracoat have a negative effect on the operation of the gun once dried? Will it "bridge" the gap between the top of the bolt and the receiver? How about the loading port? Those are my main concerns. How thick does Duracoat apply?
Should the barrel be plugged for this process?
Heres the kit I would use
