So like quite a few of you i'm sure, I got in on the Tavor sale. Excellent price, and the customer service is excellent, I'm not gonna BS it. He's been very prompt with communication.

However, the owner (I'm assuming), refuses to ship to an address that is not the address recorded with the RCMP as your primary address. I figured that's pretty ridiculous, i sent my PAL which is the only legal requirements for a non-restricted purchase... but I figured seeing as the address I provided them for shipping was a secondary address recorded with the RCMP surely they'd ship it to me after I sent the ATT PDF that shows my primary and secondary address on the same sheet with the golden stamp of approval from the RCMP.

Nope.

They figure it's for my protection. I figure they're making it harder for law abiding citizens to aquire firearms. I already had to jump through enough hoops to get a PAL, and is it not enough that every time I buy a restricted I have to deal with the RCMP? Why oh why can't this be easier!

Alas, he told me I could change my address online... and I told him I would not due to the fact it is my address, I just happen to have two, and if this did not work for him I would take my business elsewhere as I don't deal with companies that add to the process with silly rules.

Did I give up a good deal? Yup. But dignity is worth more than a couple hundred bucks. I'm sure some will think I'm ridiculous... I'm sure others will whole heartedly agree with me.

Whatever the case... There's another tavor available for anyone who wants to deal with these guys!

You kidding? They won't ship an NR to an address that the CFO approves? I don't blame you for going somewhere else. I guess some people won't let you give them money.

I just read their shipping policy and it doesn't mention this either. Too bad they seem like decent guys.

I'm not sure I completely understand the issue.. The RCMP has a registered mailing address on file and a registered residential address on file.. All Durham is doing is confirming that the mailing address on file is where they'll be mailing the rifle. I'm sure at these prices, Durham won't have any Tavors left over whether or not you choose to pass for the minor issue of an address update...

I doubt they are making anything on these rifles at these prices anyways.

I did happen to purchase a Tavor with this deal.. And I did take the 5 minutes to change my mailing address, because I live out of town, and wanted it shipped to a closer in-town location. It wasn't a huge deal.

The guy's communication is awesome. I have no complaints. I would do business again.

Thank you Durham!

We only ship to your PAL address, no exception. It is not about NR or R, more for have to confirm that is you are going to make this purchase not somebody else.

By a way, your shipping address is in another province compare to your home address.

I am a gun owner myself, will never make harder for our bros.

It takes you 5 minutes to change your shipping address.

I have multiple addresses recorded with them. All you'd have to do is call them to verify. Why would I take the 5 minutes to change my address when it hasn't changed? I'm simply asking for it to be shipped to an address that's approved by the RCMP.

I'm sure you won't have any issues selling out, but I can't come to terms with your terms and I thought I'd let others know of your policy and hopefully make you change your policy to a less anti styled one.

I'd also like to point out that this policy is not listed on your website. You should probably add that to your terms so your time and others isn't waisted. Food for thought.

I was told the same thing, I took 2 min to change my address then changed it back. I have 4 addresses so this always happens, cabelas and wholesale wont ship either.

Either way my T97 got shipped :D

Definitely inconvenient, but these types of policies are fairly common. Many online retailers will not ship to an address different than the credit card billing address for example.

I went above and beyond to prove my identity. Credit card and this is apples and oranges. This is a firearm. My addresses are both recorded in a federal registry.

It seems he sent them a copy of his att with the addresses on it.
The issue here seems that the cfc does not allow access to all the addresses on file. The vendor should take this up with the cfc.

If his shipping address is in a different province than the address he gave you it would seem all the more important that it gets to where he is and is not left at his door or returned to you because he's not there.

OP went above & beyond to have to prove/provide what is common sense/needed to have his purchase shipped to where he wants it.. An acknowledged {different} address Listed -with proof-from the CFO. The Store did not Go above, hardly even lateral. It's a "one of" store. Not a Nation wide chain, with many, many locations who have Standardized Policy's & a wide {mostly impersonal} staff base. This should have been given the {personal} service you expect from a smaller retail store. Deal or no deal, it's the small things, in the end, that gain reputation & repeat business.

Wouldn't it have taken less time just to have changed your address on the site as requested? There's a difference between the principal of the thing versus just being stubborn.

The way I see it, all of the worries gun owners have in regards to the police wrongfully confiscating magazines, etc, wrongfully charging people for firearms infractions and even though in the right, end up with loosing their property and/or paying huge legal fees to prove their innocence; your local gun stores have much more to loose if the police accuse them of the slightest infraction.

I understand, you are frustrated with store policy versus legalities, but it doesn't hurt to give the guy a break and jump through a small hoop to give him some peace of mind. We'Re all in this together and I'm sure support from both ends is appreciated by the whole community.

Just my $0.02

Sound policy stick to your guns on this. If someone does not like this buy elsewhere.

I honestly just don't care to do business with companies that add unecessary procedures. It just irks me. If it's something that can be switched within a couple of minutes online it seems silly that it'd mean anything to anyone other than myself.
