Dust cover, close it or forget it

I always close it. Don't even think about it. It's a good habit to get into and it definitely doesn't hurt anything.

I push lots of bush while hunting and my rifle would fill up with crap so fast if the bolt wasn't closed. It takes a fraction of a second to close it.... why is this even a discussion?

Beacause people want to feel good about dropping $1800 on a NEA that the dust cover won’t stay closed on. Forget about demanding that you get what you paid for. SFRC even had the nerve to claim that it was a “feature” because it wasn’t an AR15 or AR10 even though its supposedly based on the AR-102 which is..... wait for it....

50-50. At the end of a range session, I usually close it (might as well use it) but on the Wet Coast, its never dusty here any ways.

You realize the poll was about dust covers not bolts right?
I’ve pushed a lot of bush with my bolt action 308...never once did I look at my rifle and wish for a dust cover.

Playing around with my new bcl 102 and its wonky dust cover gap got me wondering, how many of you religiously close your dust cover or do you just forget its there and leave it open ?

I always close the cover on an AR, I blame the army for this.
