Since i know my RPAL is coming, many scenarios were thought of... I first thought id'e go of the bat with the best available, handguns and AR rifles, i was ready to spend muchos thousand to start my carrer as a restricted owner but now.... After they locked a tread not long ago i just realized that maybe i wont like to be confined to a range only proposition and maybe i wont like those expensive rifles or handguns, and another non negligable thing is maybe il'l get the best there is but will still spend a lot more time shooting my NR on my lands...
I am happy to start restricted but knowing that il'l be forced to shoot somewere specific all the time could tame down my energy, i thought that maybe starting of with a basic kit would be more appropriate...
After that if i really get stung by the restricted, there will ample times to trow muchos dinares on top of the line restricteds....
I decided that i will start with a CA 45 ACP deal + one DA AR223 14.5 inch a 1200.00 investment and from there will see how the story unfold... JP.

Bravo, my hats off to you.
I think I know you well enough to know you can afford better guns, however you have shown great wisdom here by starting off with Dominion Arms and Norinco.

Hey Caramel, there are some really good semi auto black rifles that are non restricted and with an LAR or a .50mag, you're looking at 10 to 14 rounds in semi auto. That's some pretty interesting package if you want to shoot unhindered and unbothered on your own land.

Personally I'm dying to get a Bushmaster ACR, then get it re-barrelled in a 18.5 barrel to get it onto a NR status. but it's 2700$ for the rifle then another 700 for the barrel and work, plus the time this will all take (3 to 4 months probably). The accuracy on the ACR is remarkable, plus the barrel change option to make it into .300blk is very very interesting. But I'm lazy and I'm stingy.

Principally the appeal for NR is the fact that i don't like being monitored like I'm a baby, but in Quebec I guess it doesn't matter if it's a NR or an R rifle.

I got a house in Terrebone north of Montreal but our place ( did built a small 2 rooms house) were we have our 10-1000 metres home range is in Jarnac in Gatineau... JP. PS: there is a world of difference even in Quebec between restricteds and NR....
