I bought a sight for a rifle from this fellow in Texas...Dwight Williams...this was a couple of years ago. At the time he was manufacturing a wide front blade for 1911 pistols with a hole in it. Went back to his webpage today and he has rear sights with cutouts so your view isn't blocked, and now makes the same setup for Glocks too.
Now the neat part...they are designed for service at distances up to 150 yards. Lots of shot target group photos on the webpage showing what they can do. It's worth a look.
