I just got a bulk of dynapoit at my local c.. tire and the box is black like supreme ammunition and it's dynapoint GT is it only a different presentation ??

it's 40 gr copperplated bullet but no speed or nothing else on the box exepting the target written in wide on the top of the box?

I have had great accuracy with the Dynapoint 'GT' in my Savage MKII.

I can't find it though! Last box was at Canadian Tire a few months ago, none since (in Edmonton).

I was curious about this myself. The following is taken from a US site after doing a google search on black box Dynapoints. The post was made earlier this year....

This ammo used to sell at Walmart for $9.00 per box of 500. It shoots well in bolt guns and cycles well in almost all semi autos. What was discovered is that in barrels of 16" or less, it remains subsonic. People with suppressors, myself included had a cheap SS round to use. 500 rounds of bulk .22 was much cheaper than 500 rounds of subsonic .22. Well low and behold, Winchester quit making the ammo for a time. What was left on the shelves increased to double the price. Winchester then released it again last year in a new black box instead of the white box that it used to come in. The new black box is now $23-29 depending on where you get it. If you shoot a suppressor it is a good round to stay quiet. If you are not shooting with a suppressor get the cheaper bulk ammo.

We are lucky here in qc for that bulk pack are always avaible at both place(c..tire and wally) the only one we did'nt see so often is the win 333's. will do some trial in my savage and cz.

thanks cbabes that make sens soud like a marketing things.

I look into their web site yesterday and it still show the white one.

Here in Ontario I have been buying Dynapoints in the white box as recent as a couple of days ago.

I've tried both, and measured the results extensively. I get ever so slightly better accuracy out of the black-box stuff than I did out of the white-box stuff (0.68 inch average group at 50 meters vs 0.83 average with the white box stuff), but simple lot number variance could account for that small difference

Otherwise, I couldn't tell the difference -- they look 100% the same to the naked eye, and the velocity numbers over the chrony are more/less identical.

thats the stuff i shoot in my 10/22target. it works very well for bulk ammo. it feeds very well in my ruger

I bought Dynapoint GT's once....... NEVER again........

When I first bought my Buckmark pistol I ran myself out of AE .22 Then I started chewing into my Federal Bulk supply...... I decided to go shopping. My local supplier of AE was out of stock, all of the local Wally marts and Canuk tires were out of Federal Bulks so I took the chance on some Dynapoint GT... Can tire had 6 Bricks in stock... So I bought them, all of them....... at the time I was shooting at 2 different indoor ranges 3 nights a week and I was chewing through 500 to 750 rnds of .22 a week. I figgured if they work well enough it may get me through a dry spell and maybe I just found another kind of ammo that works in my .22's.

I usually clean my pistol once a week, so about every 500 to 750 rnds, I have gone 3 weeks before in the past before it started to FTE and FTF....... I shot 150 rnds of the Dyanpoints, and the action wouldn't cycle fully in my pistol..... it was that fouled!

Accuracy was ok, but I consider a "lets unfoul the action break" unnessicary when at the range..... not to say i don't clean the action at the range from time to time, but fouling that bad is as bad as flyers every 2nd or 3rd round.......

I never have this problem with my usual ammo. So I returned the unopened boxes of the Dynapoints, and gave the rest of the opened box to a guy that annoys me at the range! :D

Of course the next week my local g-store got in a whole bunch of AE, so alls well that ends well, I now try to keep at least a case of each in "stock".... it has been getting a little harder lately tho......

Cheers

I find the whitebox dynapoints to be very accurate in my lakefield (savage) mark II. They do foul up pretty fast though. So for that reason I run federal bulk in my ruger 22/45.

So back to the original question is there any difference between the wally world WHITE box dynapoint's($17.99) and the Canadian Tire BLACK box dynapoint GT's ($19.99)?????? Or are they just packaged different for the two company's???? Not wondering about the performance of the two from your gun, is there any difference from a ballistic stand point??? Any info from the factory that states the dif??????

So far I haven't been able to find one Walmart in Toronto that sells ammo. I work in TO and hit all the stores when I am not busy. Canadian Tire still has a few stores in TO that sell ammo. :(

There was one by Jane & HWY 7, but they abruptly pulled all ammo off the shelves (very shortly after I had recommened the store to a fellow CGN'er, I'm sad to say ).

Oakville CT's still have ammo (disclaimer: as of the last time I personally checked), as do the Woodbridge ones (again, as I was told recently).

Bass Pro - north of T.O. - is still my go-to for nearby bulk .22, and I guess LeBaron's in Markham for some things not carried by BP.

I miss Giovanni's, though...:(...now I've got no place to buy CCI Green Tag, Stingers, etc. without hauling myself out of town....(and good luck with Minimags ).
