So, I have a couple of rifles that really like the Dynapoint GT .22 ammo that comes in the black box. The other day at my local Wally World I noticed they have "Dynapoint" ammo that is in a plain white box. Both are 40gr bullets, but I couldn't find anyone to open the case and see what the other details are on the white box stuff.

Can anyone enlighten me on the differences and if I should buy a brick or two of the white box to try?

Thanks,
Mark

I shoot both. Visually, the ammo appears to be 100% identical. Also, my spreadsheet wherein I track long term group sizes (5 shots, 50 meters) indicates the following (DPGT == black box GT's, WBDP == white box dynapoints)

DPGT: 21 groups, average size 0.68 inches, group size deviation 0.27.
WBDP: 66 groups, average size 0.77 inches, group size deviation 0.19.

0.09 inches of group size is well within what I would consider shooter or ammo lot variance (and if I study the numbers, I managed a couple of exceptionally small groups with the DPGT which pulled my overall average size down with those, but increased the deviation in group size (in other words, I think the "typical" group with both was pretty much identical).

So, in english -- I'm pretty sure they're the same darn thing in a different box. :)

Ya , must different wrap is all.:D

Dynapoints shot better for me in my 1022T than the GTs did. Especially at 100 yards.

At 100 yards I noticed that the regular DPs would stay subsonic with the odd hot one. GTs were more supersonic and didn't shoot that well.

The only reason why I bought them was cause it was 20 bucks a brick for GT and 24 or something like that for Dynapoints at Crappy Tire.

Kinda sad how they were all sub 20 last summer.
