acr = nr due to barrel length

The Liberal government ignored the petition. It was some awful timing. The petition was tabled right after the Orlando shooting
They didn't ignore it, they just simply said No because the RCMP said it is too dangerous.

It was tabled BEFORE the Orlando shooting. They waited until AFTER the Orlando shooting to address it because it gave them the excuse they wanted to say no.
While these petitions are great and all and it's nice seeing all the support we get through signatures.
Our best hope now is probably the CPC new firearm policy.
"A Conservative Government would streamline Firearms classification by adopting the Simplified Classification System"
Which might end up removing the AR-15 from the restricted list and even change some of the other barrel length rules.

You got that right my friend, lets just get AR's NR and we can worry about barrel length restrictions afterwards.
Saying all that, I would sure be looking forward to the day I could hunt with a 12.5" AR-10 in .308.

I suspect that if ARs become NR, prices will shoot up to NR price point. For example long barrels and uppers.
It's unlikely other NR rifles will come down in price to match lower demand.
