tiriaq is right on, there were many English made single and double sporting rifles chambered in .303 Brit. I've seen British bolt guns in this caliber too that were not based on military arms. The 1895 Winchester also was fairly popular in .303 British. Most 95s I have seen in this caliber had 28" barrels but I have one with a factory ordered 24" barrel too. There are some beautiful smaller double rifles in .303 British, I would love to get my hands on one of those. Would seem like a natural on a Ruger #1 or #3 too, though I've never heard of one and don't think Ruger ever did any factory runs.
