E2 Muzzle Brakes?

Since no one has responed I will. This is the brake that SEI reffers to when they say it will shoot off the rifle. Better just to replace it with a proper working brake.

As for the orignal version that little nut does spin of after a little while from repeative use and barrel whip. Actually I think I still might have it lying around some were but wouldn't reccomend it to anyone.

I did a quick search and couldn't find anything about these. They seem like a damned easy way to stick a muzzle brake onto a Norinco M14s; why haven't they caught on?
I thought that this one slipped on overtop of the regular flashhider and connected to the bayo lug. It was the Muzzle Stabilizer specifically designed for the M14E2 Version.
edit: It's refered to in the research and engineering manual as a Muzzle Stabilizer. It's in the M14E2 manual.
Yeah, I've got an SEI Navy brake, but my eBay addiction took me a guy selling American-made repro's for $60 US. By all accounts, his particular repops are of fine quality (unlike the Taiwanese knock-offs), and at that price I was just curious to see if anyone had any first-hand experience.

For a long time, Norincos and Polytechs that came into Canada, had the bayonet lug machined off for silly legislation such as the US Assault Weapon Ban, which only 'sunsetted' a few years ago and the Chinese manufacturers made them without it for quite a few years. According to this obselete US federal law, IIRC there were 5 "evil features" that categorized each different imported model of rifle. IE-Bayonet lug, flash hider, ability to take detachable magazines etc etc......
Hence you see more recently made M14 copies with the bayonet lug from the factory now.

Yes, I have one of these. It works wonderfully well. Ray Kryza's reproduction M14E2 muzzle stabilizer has seen lots and lots of use on my select fire M1A. Every 1000 rounds or so, you do need to clean up the carbon residue on the inside of it. NBD
