Can anyone tell me what serial number the EAL started with? I`ve heard that they started with 1000 and I would like to find out for sure. Also, How many were made?

I have been looking around the forums and just found this one that looks like serial no. 788, Only just found it a few seconds ago

According to STRATTON, there were about 7000 made. It is unknown for sure just where the serial range started. One person here has reported two and three digit serial numbers, but no actual photos have been posted to confirm these. (Pictures confirm things.)

There have been a lot of surprises in the EAL story and even to one model made in .22 Hornet. There does appear to be two digit numbers however any official documentation is not around. Three digit is confirmed. When I researched the EAL story there was little to go on and few of the original players were around. Getting 70 and 80 year old guys at the time to remember something that they were not interested in was most interesting.

One of mine has a serial # below 350 and I have seen others below 1000
