One thing has always puzzled me. WHY does the military version have a commercial rear sight and the commercial version has a militatry peep sight????

Agreed, and also, why would the civi have a 10 round military mag and the mil have a 5 round mag cap?

Military one was a survival rifle, and the smaller mag made it more egronomic ?? easier to pack in the survival kit ??

the EAL military / survival rifles were replaced with a 30-06, orange folding stock

I have the commercial model and the serial number is 41##. Nice gun and like
John Sukey mentioned the military one has mentioned the short mag and commercial sights.
