early 70's winchester 30/30 stock stain color?

hi i just recently purchased a early 70's model 94 winchester 30/30 and i would like to re-finish all the wood. does anyone know the exact color of stain i should buy to put on it?

My dad has a blonde one in 32 Special. It looks pretty sharp.

Some had a reddish stain, I think it was called Alkanet Root, you might want to look into it. FWIW --- John303.

I don't know about 'exact' but I've had pretty good results on 'light' stocks with one part Minwax Gunstock 231 and two parts Minwax Dark Walnut 2716....fwiw
