This is my latest acquisition. I think it is a MkII (no star). This will undoubtedly be verified/disproved by the experts on board. Not in new condition, but an interesting piece of history nontheless.
Lucky you!I have the same exact rifle with that early sight.
Unfortunately, mine had its forestock cut off very short... I succeeded in getting most of the replacement parts but I still have to find a suitable walnut piece to match the original grain and then graft it to the front part of the stock. Last fitting will have to be done with the barreled action in the stock.
PP.
I heard Ross never made two of the same rifle...a bit of an exaggeration but...lots of changes as the production line ran.
You are not wrong, I have read and heard this as well. I wish I could quote but no. Ross's Rifle rifle was impressive, I believe he was near to a semi auto rifle in the WWI era as it wouldn't have taken much. Ross was so involved to improve his rifle. I had three and all were not the same.
